Lyrics
Oh! Should the storm make the flood rise
Oh! Should the sea come to me at my door

I know I have the sunshine
And love that's in your eyes
And your words that assure me, I'm fine

Oh! Should the storm make the flood rise
Oh! Should the sea come to me at my door

I hang on to dreams and pictures
That are left in my mind
And how you always remember, you're mine

Oh! Should the storm make the flood rise
Oh! Should the sea come to me at my door

I feel the strength in your love
When you're with me at night
And say I love you darlin', it's alright

Oh! Rain on me I don't care no more
Oh! Through rising seas love will carry me
Safe and sound
Back home to you
I know

Oh! Should the storm make the flood rise
Oh! Should the sea come to me at my door

I fear no more

Story Behind the Song:
The great northeastern storms in the 1960s and 70s were a great challenge to Revere, Massachusetts in addition to many other seacoast towns along the eastern seaboard. Many of Revere's neighborhoods would get flooded. When I composed "The Storm," The Blizard of 78 was on my mind.
